수동태란 능동태의 목적어를 주어로 삼아서 ‘be +과거분사 + by 행위자’의 형식을 취하며, ‘(주어가) ~ 당하다, ~하여지다’ 라는 의미를 갖는 문장을 말합니다.
능동태에서는 주어가 동작을 하는 주체이며, 수동태에서는 주어가 동작을 받는 대상이다.
